Dr. Bolanle Olaitan Opere is a Senior Lecturer on Sabbatical Leave from Lagos State University in the Department of Biological Sciences. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Microbiology from the University of Lagos. She has over 26years of university teaching experience. She was the Ag. Head of Department of Microbiology, Lagos State University (2008 -2010). She was the Coordinator of Postgraduate Studies in the same department (2004 -2008; 2012 – 2014). She was also the Team Lead for Biology at the inception of Foundation (JUPEB) programme at LASU. At MTU, she is serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Biological Sciences as well as being the Ag. Head of the Department. She is also a member of the University Ceremonies and Honours Committee, member Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee, member Investigative Panel for Students, member Academic Development Committee and the Chairperson University Quality Assurance Team. She is a member of the following learned societies: Nigerian Society for Microbiology, American Society of Microbiologists, West African Research and Innovation Management Association (WARIMA), and African Biological Safety Association (AfBSA). She has over 25 publications to her credit in Learned Journals and Conference Proceedings.
